It’s a new Key Club month everybody! The first semester is quickly coming to an end, and surprisingly, your current officers’ terms are halfway through (Can’t believe it? Neither can we!). We are currently looking for new officers for the 2018-2019 Key Club year, so if you are not graduating this year and are interested in running for a position, please contact an officer for more information. Our officer terms are going fast, however, the Key Club grind never stops! Summit High School Key Club’s officer board recognizes your hard work and dedication to keep the spirit alive. Thank you for staying up to date with our events!

Speaking of updates, new features have been added to the website! We recognize that you all have busy lives and cannot attend every meeting, so I have added a link to the presentation on both the Event Calendar page and the Meetings page. Please remember that you still need to attend at least 12 meetings per semester, and at least 24 meetings by the end of the year. (To view the presentation directly from this post, click here.)

Also, lately we have been mentioning DCON rather frequently. DCON is our epic Texas-Oklahoma District Convention, held yearly here in Dallas. To learn more about it you can visit the DCON page, to which I’ve embedded a link to view a video of the 2017 DCON that several of your officers attended (and now have Post-DCON Depression because of it). If you ask any of them, they will certainly give recommend that you look into going. (To view the video directly from this post, click here.)

Our editor Patricia Rojas has published the October Newsletter! If you attended our S’mores Night social, you are more than like to have been featured on the cover! The contents highlights not only the s’mores social, but also our Member of the Month, Sharlene Garcia! She raised the most money during our October Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. Congratulations Sharlene, and thank you to all who participated and contributed! The real winners are the ones who will benefit from your donations. Thank you for helping make the world a better place.

Let’s keep in touch! If you haven’t already, sign up for our Remind 101. A few members have said that they have not been receiving messages since early October. If this is the case, please renew your subscription by texting @1718shskc to 81010. We also have Twitter and Instagram accounts, both @keyclubsummit. You can be an even more active member by sending pictures of the events you volunteer at! Every three pictures you send will give you an hour of service, and will likely be featured on our gallery. If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could also write a short article describing the event, at least 400 (or 450) words, which would give you another hour of service. However you’d like to stay connected, we appreciate all of the work you’re putting into making 2017-2018 one of the best Key Club years ever! Keep it up, SHS!
